Deadline: 28th February 2026 | Capture the real, human stories of technology through a single powerful photograph.

Overview:
The Rest of World Photo Contest 2026 is a global photography competition inviting photographers from anywhere in the world to show how technology actually lives in people’s daily lives. This is about thoughtful, human-centred storytelling — not polished tech imagery — and is open to both emerging and experienced photographers.

Eligibility:
• Open to photographers of all skill levels worldwide
• One original photo submission per person
• Photo must have been taken within the last two years

Description:
Participants are invited to submit one compelling image that reflects how technology is used, adapted, or experienced in real-world contexts. Entries fall under three themes: surprising screens in unexpected places, inherited or older technology still in use, or a community-voted category. Each photo must be accompanied by a clear caption explaining where it was taken, when, and why the story matters.

Benefits:
USD 750 cash prize for first-place winners in each category
USD 250 cash prize for honorable mentions
• Global exposure through Rest of World’s platforms
• Opportunity to be featured as a visual storyteller highlighting overlooked tech narratives

Submission Notes:
Photos must be submitted as JPG files with a minimum of 2,500 pixels on the longest side. Selected finalists may be contacted for additional information or short presentations about their work.
