Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s flagship international scholarship programme for individuals with the potential to become future leaders and decision-makers. Successful applicants undertake a one-year master’s degree in the UK and gain access to an extensive international professional network.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory; Brunei Darussalam has its own Chevening scholarship programme.
  • Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for a UK master’s programme.
  • Undergraduate studies must have been completed at least two years before the application deadline.
  • At least 2,800 hours of work experience gained after completing the undergraduate degree are required.
  • Applicants must commit to returning to their country of award for at least two years after completing the scholarship.
  • Applicants select three eligible UK master’s courses and must later secure an unconditional offer from at least one.

Description:

Chevening supports one-year taught master’s degree programmes at universities across the UK. Applicants choose courses that align with their professional goals and demonstrate leadership potential, relationship-building skills and a clear plan for creating impact after returning home.

Applications opened in August 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in early 2027, with final results expected from June and studies beginning in September or October 2027.
