The Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship offers accomplished researchers the opportunity to spend an academic year at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This October deadline is specifically for applicants in science, engineering and mathematics.

Eligibility:

  • Open to applicants from around the world.
  • Applicants must hold a doctorate in the area of their proposed project, received by December 2023.
  • Applicants in science, engineering and mathematics must have published at least five articles in refereed journals.
  • Applicants currently enrolled in a degree programme are not eligible.
  • Former Harvard Radcliffe fellows from 1999 onwards are not eligible.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a strong record of achievement and propose an ambitious project with significant intellectual or creative potential.

Description:

Around 50 fellows from different disciplines are selected each year to pursue individual projects while engaging with the wider Harvard community. Fellows are based in the Cambridge/Boston area from September through May and participate in weekly talks, professional development activities and interdisciplinary events.

Projects can involve original research and ideas across science, engineering and mathematics, including interdisciplinary work. Applications require a CV, project proposal, three published articles as a work sample and three references.

Benefits:

  • Stipend of $78,000.
  • Additional $5,000 for project expenses.
