The Youth for Peace: UNESCO Intercultural Leadership Programme is a global initiative for emerging leaders working to strengthen social cohesion, inclusion and peace.
The 2026 theme explores human connection and intercultural dialogue in the age of artificial intelligence, including challenges such as misinformation, online polarisation, algorithmic bias and unequal access to technology.
Eligibility:
• Open to applicants worldwide, including Bruneians
• Aged 25 to 45 as of 22nd October 2026
• Demonstrated leadership experience in any relevant field
• Strong commitment to intercultural dialogue and social impact
• Potential to create positive change within their community
• Open to reflection, collaboration and learning across differences
• Able to participate fully in all programme components
• Applications and programme participation must be in English
Description:
Fifty selected participants will complete a structured series of interactive online workshops focused on intercultural leadership, strategic communication, mediation, conflict transformation, adaptive leadership and the ethical use of AI.
Participants will then design and lead an intercultural dialogue initiative addressing the programme’s 2026 theme. Approved initiatives must be implemented at a local or national level within six months.
Selected leaders will also contribute to wider international discussions on peace, inclusion and intercultural leadership through UNESCO’s global platforms.
