Participants in the Challenge launch a business which has a positive impact on the environment around them. It encourages young people to become Ecopreneurs – doing good in their community by removing waste, while developing key life and business skills.
The Trash to Cash Challenge is a global competition that invites young people aged 5-25 years old from different countries to collect waste from their communities and transform it into valuable products that they can sell.
By doing so, they not only help reduce waste but also create income opportunities for themselves and others. The competition has three categories: Junior Eco Champions (5 to 12 years old), Teen Eco Innovators (13 to 18 years old), and Young Ecopreneurs (19 to 25 years old). The best submission in each category will receive a cash prize of $200, $250, and $300 respectively.
All participants will also receive a certificate of participation and become part of a global community of like-minded individuals who share their passion for sustainability. The judges will evaluate the submissions based on creativity, impact, and community engagement. They are looking for amazing ideas that show originality, usefulness, and environmental benefits.
