The IAAC 2025 is a yearly online competition that invites high school and university students to tackle challenging problems in astronomy and astrophysics. It’s a great platform for young science enthusiasts to showcase their knowledge, gain international recognition, and compete for awards and prizes.
Eligibility:
• Open to students worldwide
• Two categories:
– Junior: under 18
– Youth: 18 and older (including university students)
• Individuals only—no team submission required
Description:
The competition has three rounds:

Qualification Round – Solve problem sets at home and submit by 4 July 2025

Pre-Final Round – For those who qualify, a new set of problems with tighter deadlines

Final Round – For top scorers; an online exam under supervision
Participants can join independently, and educators can also register students as official IAAC Ambassadors to coordinate participation for schools or communities.
