Deadline: 8th June 2026 | Young photographers across the Commonwealth can share powerful ocean stories and win cash prizes.

The Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition 2026 invites young creatives to capture stories about oceans, waterways, climate resilience, and environmental change. This year’s theme is “Waves of Change”, encouraging youth to use photography to inspire awareness and action for the planet.

Eligibility:
• Open to young people aged 18–30
• Applicants must be citizens or residents of a Commonwealth country
• Bruneians are eligible
• Participants must submit one original photograph

Description:
Participants should submit one original photograph that responds to one of the competition categories, along with a written statement of up to 300 words explaining the image and its meaning. Categories include human-ocean connection, hope and resilience, threats and challenges, and innovative solutions.

Benefits:
• Free to enter
• Overall winner receives £1,000
• Three other category winners receive £250 each
• International recognition through the Commonwealth platform
• Opportunity to use photography for environmental storytelling
