The IAPS AI Policy Fellowship is a 3-month, fully funded program for professionals eager to tackle real-world policy challenges at the frontier of artificial intelligence. Open to individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, the Fellowship provides hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and career development support for those looking to enter or advance in AI policy.
Eligibility:

Open to professionals worldwide from various backgrounds, including public policy, national security, AI research, industry, government agencies, think tanks, and NGOs.

Applicants can choose between two tracks:

Fellow: For early-career professionals.

Senior Fellow: For experienced professionals.

Note: For the in-person D.C. track, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. between September 1 and November 21, 2025. Remote participation is available for international applicants.
Description:
The fellowship runs from September 1 to November 21, 2025, starting with a mandatory two-week in-person residency in Washington, D.C. (September 1–12). Afterward, participants may continue either in-person or remotely from around the world.
Fellows will collaborate with expert mentors on impactful projects such as:

Writing influential policy pieces.

Organizing high-level convenings.

Briefing government officials.
Projects span vital areas of AI policy, including:

National security and defense.

Export controls.
-
CBRN risks of AI systems.

AI procurement and governance.
-
International regulation (U.S., U.K., E.U.).
