Deadline: 30th June 2023 | Promote positive social change globally with your migration and diversity video and gain international recognition!

PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival, a collaboration between the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), invites young individuals worldwide to submit original and creative videos focusing on migration, diversity, and social inclusion. By facilitating the distribution of youth-produced media, PLURAL+ acknowledges the influential role of young people in fostering positive social change in a world often marked by intolerance and cultural and religious divisions.

PLURAL+ acknowledges the potential of young individuals as agents of social change, and therefore, video entries should serve as a medium for them to express their thoughts and opinions on the main themes of PLURAL+: migration, diversity, social inclusion, and the prevention of xenophobia.

Video entries for PLURAL+ can be of any genre (animation, documentary, music video, comedy, etc.) as long as they have the ability to prompt constructive thinking about the intersecting social issues related to PLURAL+’s themes, including but not limited to peace, human rights, racism, and discrimination.

PLURAL+ video entries must not contain profanity or material that might be deemed inappropriate or offensive to certain audiences, nor should they be created for commercial purposes.

All filmmakers recognized with any of the six PLURAL+ distinctions or by PLURAL+ Partners will receive digital certificates. Filmmakers who participate in the submission process but do not receive recognition can request a digital certificate of participation by emailing plural@unaoc.org. The decision to grant such a certificate will be made on a case-by-case basis by the PLURAL+ team.

All PLURAL+ participants will be notified of the results of their submissions by mid-November 2023, and the recipients will be publicly announced during a Ceremony scheduled for late 2023. Further details about the ceremony will be shared on their social media platforms closer to the event date.

Benefits:

  • Filmmakers recognized with any of the six PLURAL+ distinctions will receive digital certificates.
  • Filmmakers who participate in the submission process but do not receive recognition can request a digital certificate of participation by emailing plural@unaoc.org.
  • Recipients will be invited, with all expenses covered, to the PLURAL+ Ceremony held annually, which attracts a diverse, global audience.
  • PLURAL+ recipients gain international exposure and the opportunity to connect and network with professionals, peers, and organizations, opening avenues for further distribution and dissemination of their work.
