Deadline: 30th September 2023 |

Are you a young person with an innovative idea for a design that promotes sustainable development and addresses global challenges such as climate change, food and water insecurity, or energy poverty? If you’re a secondary school student or an undergraduate or graduate student at university, you may be eligible to apply for the UNESCO Future Designer International Innovation Design Awards (IIDA) & Science for SDGs Innovation Contest 2023.

This contest aims to raise awareness and advocate for the important role of Science, Engineering, and STEM in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by soliciting creative works from young people around the world. Winners will receive a certificate jointly issued by UNESCO and IIDA, have their works promoted on social media, and be invited to attend the award ceremony in Shanghai, China in early December 2023.

The contest is open to young people from around the world and welcomes a diverse range of works that advocate Science for the SDGs. These can include posters, videos, GIFs, illustrations, games, apps, interactive designs, as well as sustainable designs such as products, automobiles, packaging, decorations, fashion, architecture, interior design, landscape design, and public art. Entries are categorized into four distinct categories: media design, product design, environmental design, and art & science.
