Deadline: 1st Feb 2020 | The South East Asia Women Initiative is calling for experts across the region to showcase their expertise on its platform www.southeastasiawomen.org.

S.E.A Women is an initiative by the Young Southeast Asia Leader’s Initiative (YSEALI) Women’s Leadership Academy Alumni Network, and backed by the U.S. Mission to ASEAN and Wedu, a women’s leadership non-profit in Asia.

Their aim is to educate, connect, and empower women across ASEAN to solve regional and global challenges. Every year, YSEALI Women members run initiatives in women empowerment, civic engagement, environmental protection, and economic development in their respective countries.

It also aspires to improve the accessibility to women leaders and experts in various fields and reducing obstacles to improve female representation as speakers, collaborators and mentors.

Women from a range of professions are featured on the platform ranging from Arts & Lifestyle, Healthcare, Children & Youth, Human Rights, Disadvantaged Communities and Agriculture and Ecosystem Builder.

Currently, 48 women are registered on the website from all 10 ASEAN countries plus Timor-Leste.

The second cohort of applications will open from January 2 until February 1 2020, for women of all ages with clear examples of achievements in their respective professions.

Applicants must be open to speaking, mentoring and opportunities for collaboration.

Successful entries will be announced on March 8, 2020.

The S.E.A Women project is co-lead by Aimi with Lim Chooi Yen, a former YSEALI Malaysia Country Lead. The two women brought together their backgrounds in technology and social entrepreneurship, with the help of Tyne Solutions, to establish a platform that would enable women across the region to be better represented in industry events and regional projects.
