Deadline: 15th December 2024 | Bringing exceptional undergraduate student leaders from over 60 countries to the United States for a one-semester, non-degree exchange at U.S. higher education institutions to enhance students’ academic knowledge and professional skills, create global networks among U.S. and international students, and empower students to positively contribute to civic engagement in U.S. host and home communities.
Each year, over 300 students are selected by U.S. Embassies and Fulbright Commissions to participate in the Global UGRAD Program through a competitive application process that considers leadership potential, academic promise, and community involvement. World Learning then partners with over 60 diverse institutions of higher education across the United States to host Global UGRAD students on their campuses and provide high-quality academic programs, superior international student support, and impactful professional development activities.
During the exchange semester, Global UGRAD students live and learn on-campus alongside their American peers, complete 20 hours of community service, and enroll in full-time coursework including one U.S. Studies course. These outstanding students bring their own unique experiences and cultures to the campus and classroom, further internationalizing U.S. campuses and exposing U.S. students to global perspectives. Upon returning home, Global UGRAD students apply the new knowledge and skills gained during the program to enact positive change in their local communities and join a global network of over 3,000 UGRAD alumni.
