Deadline: 1st December 2023 | Gathering a community of young change makers dedicated to social impact and entrepreneurship.

Every spring, a five-day summit is held in Evanston, Illinois, packed with programming, mentorship opportunities, and a pitch competition. Delegates from around the globe gather there to develop their projects and network with fellow young changemakers.

The inaugural Summit, known as the International Youth Volunteerism Conference, equipped students with the requisite knowledge and tools to enact meaningful and enduring changes. This premier conference welcomed 75 delegates representing 20 different countries.

Since its inception, the International Youth Volunteerism Conference has transformed into what is now the Global Engagement Summit. Throughout the 15 Summits that have been held, the event has seen participation from over 500 delegates hailing from 45 countries worldwide. The Summit now boasts a dedicated staff of 60 Northwestern undergraduate students who devote an entire year to the meticulous planning of the event. Their responsibilities range from delegate recruitment to marketing the conference, as well as designing the curriculum and securing facilitators.

Beyond the intensive preparation for the spring summit, the organizers also introduce globally-focused programming to the campus, sparking nuanced discourse among Northwestern students on various social issues.
