Deadline: 23rd August 2026 | Turn your proven wildlife conservation impact into greater support, recognition and a €50,000 award.
The Future For Nature Awards recognise three young conservationists who are creating meaningful, long-term change for wild species. Open to applicants worldwide, the award supports individuals with a strong record of action, leadership and measurable conservation results.
Eligibility:
• Open to individual conservationists worldwide—not organisations, programmes or teams
• Must be between 18 and 35 years old
• Must have been born on or after 31st May 1992 and before 31st August 2008
• Must have achieved substantial, long-term benefits for one or more wild species
• Must demonstrate leadership, innovation, determination and a commitment to continuing their conservation work
• Must be able to communicate their work proficiently in written and spoken English
• Applicants for the 2026 award cycle are not eligible for the 2027 cycle
Description:
The awards celebrate emerging conservation leaders whose ongoing work has already made a measurable difference to the survival of wild species. Applications must focus on the applicant’s personal achievements and current conservation work—not a new project proposal.
Six to twelve candidates will be shortlisted before three winners are selected. Winners will present their work at the Future For Nature Awards ceremony in Arnhem, the Netherlands, in May 2027.
Benefits:
• €50,000 for each of the three winners to advance a conservation initiative of their choice
• Fully covered travel and accommodation for the awards ceremony in the Netherlands
• International recognition and greater visibility for their work
• Access to the Future For Nature global conservation network
• Opportunities for mentorship, collaboration and professional growth
• Nomination for membership in an IUCN Species Survival Commission specialist group
Applicants must complete the online application in English and provide statements from two referees who understand their conservation work.
