Deadline: 18th October 2024 | Embark on a journey of innovation! These 3-month hybrid, tuition-free and highly participatory programs invite journalists to explore generative AI through theory and practice, and add meaningfully to the conversation.
The AI Journalism Labs were developed by J+ at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, with support from Microsoft, to involve journalists in finding ways to navigate and harness generative AI in ethical ways that reinforce trust from communities and increase impact.
We believe that journalists should have a direct understanding of AI through experimentation to be able to think strategically about its applications to their work.
In that spirit, the following programs adopt a seminar-and-lab model, alternating classes between lectures by AI visionaries and hands-on sessions by seasoned practitioners, many opportunities for meaningful conversations, and a final capstone project overseen by a coach.
