Future Voices is a leadership and professional development programme for early- to mid-career media professionals across Southeast Asia and Australia. The 2026/27 intake focuses on climate change journalism and aims to strengthen ethical, impactful climate reporting across newsrooms and communities.

Eligibility:

• Early- to mid-career media professionals
• Applicants based in Southeast Asia or Australia
• Proficiency in English is required
• Suitable for journalists and media professionals interested in climate reporting, leadership and public-interest journalism

Description:

A cohort of 33 media professionals will take part in online learning, a year of professional development and ongoing alumni engagement.

From the wider cohort, 11 participants will be selected for an intensive programme in Australia from 20th to 30th October 2026. The programme is delivered by ABC International Development with support from the ASEAN–Australia Centre.
