The International Civil Society Week (ICSW) 2025 Journalist Fellowship offers an incredible opportunity for journalists to cover key civic and human rights issues from the frontline. Hosted in Bangkok this November, the fellowship supports reporters from around the world to attend and report on one of the most important global gatherings of civil society voices.
Eligibility:
• Open to journalists globally, with two categories:
– Journalist Fellowship: No age limit; applicants must show a strong interest and published work on civic space or human rights.
– Young Journalist Fellowship: For journalists under 30, including digital creators and citizen journalists focused on rights-based issues.
• Strong preference for journalists from Global Majority countries.
Description:
Selected fellows (15–20 total) will attend ICSW 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand from 1–5 November. The week-long event includes conferences, workshops, and cultural sessions featuring thousands of civil society activists and human rights defenders. Fellows will participate in these events and gain direct access to powerful stories and interviews. A special reception will also be held for all fellows.
