Deadline: 24th November 2024 | Aimed at realising a greater vision of building a cohesive and prosperous ASEAN Community. In partnership with Mission of Canada to ASEAN, the ASEAN Foundation provides a space for learning and exchanging perspectives through people-to-people interactions that enable collaborative efforts to promote peacebuilding and tolerance in the region.
This initiative brings together passionate youth from ASEAN to engage and promote a greater commitment to a harmonious ASEAN community by participating in a one-day regional workshop that is scheduled to be held in February 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This initiative will also connect all youths, communities, and policymakers.
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:
The programme will contribute to the following end goals:
- Organise a regional workshop where ASEAN youth can discuss their perceptions, understanding, and aspirations regarding peacebuilding, promoting tolerance, and celebrating diversity.
- Increase the ASEAN youth with relevant knowledge and skills of peacebuilding and promoting tolerance efforts across ASEAN.

The programme is designed to empower participants as youth peacemakers, equipping them with best practices to champion inclusivity within diverse communities. Through an engaging one-day regional workshop, participants will collaborate and share insights. By the end of the workshop, selected youth will produce a joint commitment to promote peacebuilding and foster tolerance throughout the region.
- Get a chance to meet like-minded young passionate in peacebuilding and tolerance
The one-day regional workshop unites experts, youth, and policymakers in a dynamic interfaith dialogue session, fostering meaningful connections and collaboration. This unique gathering will immerse participants in discussions that deepen their understanding of this vital issue, allowing them to engage with professionals and exchange valuable insights. - Engagement with ASEAN officials
The programme will feature experts from the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN Entities, who will share their valuable insights and experiences on effectively minimizing intolerance and discrimination.
ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be between 15 to 35 years of age. Under the age of 18 will need the consent of their parents or guardian.
- Hold nationality and resides in ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Timor-Leste.
- Fluent in English (IELTS/TOEFL certification is not required)
- Has a strong passion for promoting peacebuilding and tolerance. Existing engagement in peacebuilding and tolerance is a plus.
