Overview
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are for talented students from developing Commonwealth countries who wouldn’t otherwise afford to study in the UK. It supports one-year taught master’s programmes at UK universities that focus on development-related fields.
Eligibility:
• Citizen of or have refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country
• Permanently resident in that country
• Ready to start studies in the UK by September/October 2026
• Hold at least an upper second-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
• Must not have studied or worked in a high-income country for more than one academic year
• Must demonstrate financial need
Description:
Scholars pursue a one-year master’s degree in eligible development-related subjects such as public health, sustainability, technology, education, or governance. UK universities partner with the programme and nominate selected candidates. The goal is to build future leaders equipped to contribute to their home country’s progress.
