The True Blue Fellowship supports young people using creativity to protect the ocean, waterways and climate. Twelve Fellows will receive funding, peer support and practical training to develop projects that create tangible change in their communities.
Eligibility:
• Open to young people aged 16–24 at the start of the fellowship
• Applications may be submitted by individuals, groups or organisations
• Group and organisation applications must appoint one project leader as the Fellow
• Projects must be new or less than two years old
• Projects must use creative arts as the primary method for creating awareness or action
• Applications must be submitted in English
• Applicants under 18 must identify an adult sponsor
• Each applicant may submit only one application
Description:
The fellowship is designed for creative, community-based projects addressing issues related to oceans, waterways or climate change.
Projects may use approaches such as visual art, film, photography, music, writing, performance or storytelling to educate communities, encourage participation and inspire environmental action.
The programme will run from January to December, with projects expected to last at least one year. Fellows will participate in monthly cohort meetings, capacity-building workshops, peer discussions and regular check-ins with Bow Seat staff and the Future Blue Youth Council.
