Deadline: 7th May 2023 | Generation17 supports a group of inspiring young leaders ages 18 to 32 dedicated to innovating for humanity and mobilizing global communities. A partnership from Samsung and UNDP to magnify the voices, stories and ingenuity of young leaders helping achieve the Global Goals.
Together, Samsung and UNDP will elevate the voices and enable the success of young leaders around the world through mentorship, Galaxy technology and networking to mobilize their generation to act towards achieving the Global Goals.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Samsung Mobile are thrilled to announce the expansion of Generation17 – a joint initiative aimed at empowering young changemakers to achieve the Global Goals. If you are the leader of a Global Goals-focused initiative and are interested in being part of the next community of Generation17 Young Leaders, please complete and submit the following application by 7 May 2023 12:00 AM EST.
Once you’re selected, you’ll have the opportunity to network and engage with a group of inspiring young leaders who are advocating for meaningful change. UNDP and Samsung Mobile will open access to their technology, knowledge and global platforms and connections to enable your success and scale the impact and visibility of your organization(s).
Generation17
In 2020, UNDP and Samsung Mobile created Generation17 – an initiative that elevates the voices of young leaders while providing the resources that they need to overcome barriers to progress. Since 2020, UNDP and Samsung Mobile have gathered 14 young leaders across six regions who are working on issues that touch all 17 of the Global Goals. With this open call for applications, UNDP and Samsung Mobile look forward to increasing Generation17’s impact and empowering even more communities to take concrete action for the Goals.
Background Information
The Global Goals are a shared blueprint of 17 ambitious milestones to create a more equitable, just and sustainable world by 2030. As we’re halfway to the 2030 deadline, now more than ever, it’s important for people around the world to leverage their position and collective reach to take tangible action. That’s why in addition to Generation17, UNDP and Samsung Mobile partnered to create the Samsung Global Goals app – an education and donation-based app that connects millions of Galaxy users to critical information about the Global Goals and helps support UNDP’s global initiatives.
