Overview
The United Nations Tourism Social Innovation Challenge 2025 is a global call for startups, scale-ups, and changemakers building inclusive, sustainable, and community-focused tourism solutions. It supports innovations that drive green practices, accessibility, and local empowerment in the tourism sector.
Eligibility:
• Open to startups, MSMEs, scale-ups, and organisations in tourism
• Must address one of the following themes:
– Community-based tourism
– Inclusivity and accessibility in tourism
– Green projects (e.g. circular economy, sustainable travel)
• Should have a minimum viable product or be ready to scale
• Open to international applicants
Description:
Applicants submit their solutions under one of the focus areas. Finalists will be selected to pitch at a global demo day and gain access to mentoring, potential pilot opportunities, and global exposure. This challenge is backed by UN Tourism and the Sommet Education Foundation, with strong industry and investment networks.
