The Queen’s Commonwealth Writing Competition 2026 invites young writers from across the Commonwealth to express their creativity through storytelling and reflection. Organised annually, this competition is a powerful platform for youth voices, offering global recognition and the chance to be published.

Open to young people in Brunei and across the Commonwealth, it’s an exciting opportunity to explore meaningful themes, develop your writing skills, and have your work read on an international stage.

Eligibility:
• Open to citizens and residents of Commonwealth countries
• Two categories:
– Junior: Under 14 years old
– Senior: 14–18 years old
• Entries must be written in English

Description:
Participants are invited to submit original written pieces based on selected themes for 2026. Entries can take the form of short stories, reflective essays, or creative narratives. Submissions are judged based on originality, creativity, and clarity of expression. Winners are selected from regional and global levels, with top entries often published and celebrated internationally.
